WARDELL- The Richlands boy’s soccer team made a fast recovery from a 3-1 loss to arch rival Tazewell on Monday, April 7 as the Blues took out their frustration on visiting Lebanon on Tuesday on the same field that they lost their first match of the 2008 season on just one day earlier.
The Blues pitched an 8-0 non-district shutout against the Pioneers as Albert Fajardo turned in a hat trick and his older brother Romulo Fajardo put a pair of shots into the net in the rout.
Richlands (4-1, 1-1) also got goals from Benn Addison, Jordan Plaster and J. D. Shelton and four assists from Brandon Olmstead. Chad Cole enjoyed the shutout in goal.
The Tornado will journey to Marion on Monday for a Southwest District match against the Scarlet Hurricanes.
