Alvarado
Luis Jesus Alvarado, infant son of Jinnie Alvarado, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, in Smyth County Community Hospital.
Survivors include his mother, Jinnie Alvarado; two sisters, Amanda Alvarado and Christel Alvarado, both of Marion; one brother, Tamir Alvarado of Marion; one aunt, Elizabeth Driver and her four children, all of New York.
Graveside services were held Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 27, 2007, at Round Hill Cemetery, Marion, with the Rev. Lance Turner officiating.

Blevins
Robert Teddy Blevins, 71, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, at the Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Tara and Toby Ham of Fleetwood, N.C., Marlena Blevins and Velma Keesee, both of Martinsville; his mother, Gracie Blevins of Martinsville; his companion, Geneva Keesee of Martinsville; two sisters, Mary Ann Jackson and Erma Thompson, both of Front Royal; six brothers, Lee Blevins of Martinsburg, W.Va., James Blevins of Martinsville, Howard Blevins and Leonard Blevins, both of Atkins, and Lyle Blevins and Roger Blevins, both of Saltville; one granddaughter, Kimber Ham; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, Nov. 25, 2007, at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Evangelist Wayne Bowman officiated the services. Burial followed in Miller Cemetery in White Top.

Crusenberry
George W. “Buck” Crusenberry Sr., 87, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, in the James H. Quillen Medical Center in Mountain Home, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally Rhea Crusenberry; daughter, Carolyn J. Crusenberry; parents, James and Bessie Crusenberry; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, James E. and Geraldine Crusenberry of Saltville and George W. Jr. and Diane Crusenberry of Emory; six daughters and sons-in-law, Isa and Bobby Wright of Glade Spring, Georgie and Gene Blevins of Chilhowie, Katherine and J.C. Heath of Saltville, Polly Crusenberry of Atkins and June and Kenneth Harris and Sandy and Larry Hogston, all of Saltville; brother, Thomas “Newton” Crusenberry of Saltville; two sisters, Katherine Russell of Marion and Myrtle Osborne of Saltville; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Ruth Allison.
Funeral services were conducted Monday evening, Nov. 26, 2007, at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Kenny Howard officiated the services. Graveside services were held Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 27, 2007, at the Elizabeth Cemetery. The Saltville V.F.W. conducted military rites.
The family received friends Monday evening, Nov. 26, 2007, prior to the services.

Greer
Leonard E. “Buck” Greer, 80, of Rock Falls, Ill., died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, at his home.
He was born June 10, 1927, in Saltville, a son of the late Fred and Margie (Harris) Greer. He married Marjorie Elva Burnop on May 23, 1953 in Atkins. He worked as a welder at Parrish Alford. He was a member of the Rock River First Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Elgin and Roscoe Greer and John and James Greer in infancy.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Elva Greer of Rock Falls; two daughters, Deborah (Al) Goodwin of Oregon and Marcia Greer of Cleveland, Tenn.; three sons, Stanley (Alicia) Greer of Virginia Beach, Joseph (Jackie) Greer of Galt and Dale (Brenda) Greer of Rock Falls; six sisters, Louise Hicks, Irene Wilson, Lois Cannon, Ermalee Blevins, Mary Blevins, and Mabel Prater, all of Virginia; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 27, 2007, at the Rock River First Church of God in Sterling. The Rev. Bob Larson officiated the services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his memory.
The family received friends Monday evening, Nov. 26, 2007, at the church.

Margaret Taylor Holmes, 91, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at her son’s home in Virginia Beach.

Dorothy Goodman Horne, 80, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at Francis Marion Manor in Marion.
Survivors include her husband, Lewis W. Horne of Sugar Grove; two daughters, Brenda Sue Mitchell and Joyce Anita Hamby, both of Sugar Grove; one sister, Olivene Graybeal of South Carolina; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at 11 a.m. at ¬Blue Springs United Methodist Church in Camp with the Revs. Ginny Tompkins, Kenny Price, and Billy Gwinn officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Springs Cemetery in Camp.
