Catron
Anna Mozelle Calhoun Catron, 92, died Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Princeton Health Care Center, Princeton, W.Va.
She was born July 29, 1915, the daughter of the late William Aaron and Florence Pennington Calhoun.
During her lifetime, she was a lifelong resident of Atkins and was a Charter Member of both the Atkins Home Demonstration Club and the Atkins Garden Club. She was also a life member of the Cedar Bluff Baptist Church in Atkins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Earlie “Doc” Catron; three sisters, Elsie Cox, Katie Catron and Virginia “Gin” Calhoun; one brother, Joe Calhoun; and one grandson, Richard Keith Clark.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Richard Clark of Atkins and Dawn and Stuart Sigmon of Princeton, W.Va.; one son, William “Bill” Catron of Atkins; five grandchildren, Billy Catron, Aaron Clark and wife, Pooneh, Shawn Young and husband, Jack, and Rochelle Lusby; one granddaughter-in-law, Julie Clark; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 3, at 11 a.m. at Cedar Bluff Baptist Church in Atkins with the Rev. Eddie Beck and the Rev. Grady Byrd officiating. Entombment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Gardens in Rural Retreat.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Doane
Donald E. “Pug” Doane Sr., 60, died May 1, 2008 at Francis Marion Manor in Marion.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of Vietnam.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph R. Doane and Mabel W. Doane, and brother, Bobby Doane.
Survivors include one son, Donald E. Doane Jr.; two brothers, Billy Joe Doane of the home, and Jimmy Doane and wife, Judy, of Chilhowie; five sisters, Mildred Olinger of Chilhowie, Betty Doane, Rachel Kestner, Claudine Kestner, Daphine McCready and husband, Darrel, all of Saltville, and Rita Rupe and husband, Bobby, of Rural Retreat; special friend, Bill Doane; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville with the Rev. Donald Wyatt, the Rev. Bob Briggs, and the Rev. Bob Neace officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.

Martin
Justin Lee Martin, 22, died Thursday, April 17, 2008.
He was born in Smyth County on July 7, 1985 to Ronald K. Martin Jr. and Becky Martin.
He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. He was a member of Wassum Valley Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William R. Bill Davis and Nancy “Boom Boom” Davis, and his paternal grandfather, Ronald K. Martin Sr.
Survivors include his parents, Becky and Ronald Martin Jr. of Marion; one brother, Joe Bill Davis of Marion; one sister and her fiancée, Jessica Martin and Chase Hopkins; paternal grandmother, Linda Martin of Chilhowie; aunts and uncles, Nita and Buck Doane of Chilhowie; Vicki and Mike Taylor of Chilhowie; Ann and Mike Poston of Marion; Teressa Whitely of Marion; Billy and Nette Davis of Marion; Sebrina and Bradley Farris of Marion; Alanna Kegley of Atkins; Troy Davis of Marion; cousins, Amy Cregger, Tonya Taylor, Chase Taylor, Robert and Tiffany Poston, Kristy and Brandon Frazier, Jamie and Megan Davis, Jonathan Davis, Michael Davis, Matthew Davis, Kristy Davis, Rebekah Kegley, Katlyn Frye, Tanner Jarvis and Blake Frazier; best friend, Aaron Anderson; and special friends, Kathy Eastridge, Tommy Kegley and Ronnie Hawkins.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at Bradley’s Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with Pastor Steve Hutton and Pastor David Bise officiating.
Interment followed in the Wassum Valley Church Cemetery.

Snyder
Glenn R. Snyder, 68, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Montgomery County and was preceded in death by his father, Roy G. Snyder, and his grandparents.
Survivors include his mother, Irene L. Snyder of Marion; one daughter, Julie A. Snyder of Kentucky; one son, Michael G. Snyder and wife, Michelle, of Chilhowie; one granddaughter, Haley E. Snyder; two step-grandchildren; Lindsey and Hunter Hayden; his companion, Ruby R. Powers; his former wife, Ann Snyder; his loyal cat, Moe; and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, from the Bradley’s Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Avery Sheets and the Rev. Mike Sage officiating. Interment will follow in The Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
The family received friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Totten
Jay David Totten, 24, died Monday, April 28, 2008.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Betty Totten, Jay Darnell, and Charles Johnson.
Survivors include his father, David Totten of Saltville; his mother, Debbie Totten and special friend, Gary Burge, of Saltville; two sisters, Kristi and Chris Propst, of Glade Spring, and Carrie Totten of Saltville; grandmother, Madeline Johnson of Chilhowie; niece, Harleigh Propst of Glade Spring; step-niece, Ericia Propst; special friend, Megan Campbell; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services were conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, in D.R. Henderson Funeral home with Pastor Bill Edmonds and the Rev. Shirley Carter officiating.
The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home prior to the service.
Graveside services were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 1, in the Mount Rose Cemetery.

Wilson
John Wayne “J.W.” Wilson, 56, of Glade Spring, died Saturday, April 26, 2008 at his residence.
He was a lifelong resident of Washington County, and was a son of the late Bert and Bertha Wilson.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Willie Pinkston, and a brother, Edward Wilson.
Survivors include three sisters, Virgie Sweesy of Glade Spring, Dorothy Cason of Duluth, Ga., and Frances Stewart of Chesapeake; one brother, Donald Wilson of Mountain City, Tenn.; a special friend, Junior Yarber of Glade Spring; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, in Garrett Funeral Home Chapel with Denver Doss officiating.
The committal service and interment followed at Pleasant View Cemetery in Glade Spring.
The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, April 28, at Garrett Funeral Home or at any other time at the residence of his sister Virgie Sweesy, 35612 Bucks Bridge Rd., Glade Spring.
