DeBord
Thomas Ray DeBord, 88, died Monday, April 21, 2008 after a long illness. He was a member of Main Street Christian Church, former mayor of Coco Beach, Fla., and a retired employee of NASA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Charlotte DeBord, his wife, Ferne, daughter, DeAnna, sister, Blanch, and grandson, Scott.
Survivors include two sons, Harold and wife, Phillis, of Bristol; Richard and wife, Dorla, of Rockledge, Fla.; one brother, Glen and wife, Birdie DeBord, of Bristol, Tenn; stepdaughter, Wanda Ely and husband, Alfred, of Melbore, Fla.; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend and caregiver, June Farris; and caregiver, Lucille Smith; and his loving dog, Tippy.
Graveside services were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at the Elizabeth Cemetery in Saltville with the Rev. Dale Strange officiating.
The family received friends from noon until 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the services.
D.R. Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville was in charge of arrangements.
Hubble
Margaret Anderson Hubble, 87, of Staunton, formerly of Buchanan, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008.
She was a lifelong student and educator having taught in the Smyth and Botetourt County school systems, lastly at Buchanan Elementary School. She was an avid reader, collected Virginia postmarks, and was an amateur geologist. She was a member of the Buchanan Presbyterian Church and The Hubble Historical Society.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Paul N., Jr. and Jean Hubble of Verona; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Gerald Hannah of Bremo Bluff; sister, Ginny Anderson Stevenson of Marion; three grandchildren, Paul N. Hubble III, Bethany Hubble Douliery, and Katie Hannah Toth; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 28, in the Buchanan Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Marina Gopadze officiating. Her committal service will be held that afternoon at 2:30 p.m. in the Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Ceres.
The family will receive friends Sunday, April 27, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan.

Johnson
Callie Irene Johnson, 79, died Monday, April 21, 2008 at Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James I. “Jim” Johnson.
Survivors include on brother, Wayne Sauls of Maryland; special cousins, Glen and Janie McGlocklin of Meadowview, and Jim and Bunny Price and Rosie Gregory, all of Glade Spring; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 27, at Henderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Wilson officiating. The burial will follow in the Glade Spring Presbyterian Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
