Jones

Beulah M. Jones died Friday, April 18, 2008 at Smyth County Community Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Enack Cicero Weaver and Flossie Caroline Sexton, her husband, Joseph E. “Gene” Jones, five brothers, Wiley C. Weaver, Ralph I.Weaver, Blaine T. Weaver, Ross E. Weaver and Earl V. Weaver; three sisters, Thelma W. Adkins, Ellen “Dorothy” Sexton and Fannie W. Caudill.
Survivors include one daughter, Phyllis York, and husband, Francis, of Londonderry, New Hampshire; one son, Alvin Jones and wife, Tammy, of Marion; one sister, Effie Trivett of Skygusty, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Matthew Jones, Barry York, Lisa Paige Schorr; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
At her request all services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Chilhowie Christian Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 21 Chilhowie, VA 24354 or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 733 3rd Ave New York, NY 10017.

Martin

Justin Lee Martin, 22, died Thursday, April 17, 2008.
He was born in Smyth County on July 7, 1985 to Ronald K. Martin Jr. and Becky Martin.
He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. He was a member of the Wassum Valley Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William R. Bill Davis and Nancy “Boom Boom” Davis, and his paternal grandfather, Ronald K. Martin Sr.
Survivors include his parents, Becky and Ronald Martin Jr., of Marion; one brother, Joe Bill Davis of Marion; one sister and her fiancée, Jessica Martin and Chase Hopkins; paternal grandmother, Linda Martin of Chilhowie; aunts and uncles, Nita and Buck Doane of Chilhowie; Vicki and Mike Taylor of Chilhowie; Ann and Mike Poston of Marion; Teressa Whitely of Marion; Billy and Nette Davis of Marion; Sebrina and Bradley Farris of Marion; Alanna Kegley of Atkins; Troy Davis of Marion; cousins, Amy Cregger, Tonya Taylor, Chase Taylor, Robert and Tiffany Poston, Kristy and Brandon Frazier, Jamie and Megan Davis, Jonathan Davis, Michael Davis, Matthew Davis, Kristy Davis, Rebekah Kegley, Katlyn Frye, Tanner Jarvis and Blake Frazier; best friend, Aaron Anderson; and special friends, Kathy Eastridge, Tommy Kegley and Ronnie Hawkins.
A memorial visitation was held on Sunday evening at Bradley’s Funeral Home.
Private interment will be held at Wassum Valley Church Cemetery.

Perkins

Helen Frances Per-kins, 84, died Sunday, April 20, 2008 in Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lewis Perkins, a son, Lewis Lee Perkins, and all of her brothers and sisters.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Gospel Mission Church in Marion.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Michael Perkins and Attie, of Atkins; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, at Bradley’s Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with the Rev. Billy Dean and the Rev. Leroy Blizzard officiating. Interment will follow in Riverbend Cemetery.
The family received friends Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Rotenberry

Oma E. Rotenberry, 94, died on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 in Rome Memorial Hospital, Rome, N.Y.
She was born Aug. 2, 1913 in Marion, the daughter of the late Levi and Lucinda Brooks Peake.
In January of 1932, she was united in marriage to Ray Elmer “Buck” Rotenberry, who died on May 25, 1992.
She was a resident of Ava, N.Y., since 2004. She had previously resided in Herndon Heights, W.Va., from 1956 to 2004.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Nancy Rotenberry and Lucille Rotenberry.
Survivors include one daughter, Gertrude Curry of Athens, W.Va.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Cecil and Leah Rotenberry, with whom she resided, and Roger and Judy Rotenberry of Kinzers, Penn.; a stepdaughter, Etta Lane and her husband, Norman, of Georgetown, Penn.; a stepbrother and sister-in-law, the Rev. R.C. and Louise Wagner of Roanoke; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. 
Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, April 24, at 2 p.m. at West Cemetery in Marion with the Rev. R.C. Wagner officiating. 
The family will receive friends at Seaver-Brown Funeral Home in Marion, Thursday from 12 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. when the procession will leave for West Cemetery where graveside services will be conducted.
