Shot fired at Tazewell County resident

TAZEWELL – Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a suspect after a county resident fled his home after being threatened June 10.
Detective Captain Dave Mills said the call came into the 911 center as a threat. The caller told detectives a man driving a car with Tennessee plates pulled into his driveway and the man went to the door to see what the person wanted.
He reported the man told him not to move or he would shoot him. The victim fled when he saw the suspect reach for a rifle. One shot was fired as the victim ran from the scene.
The subject has not been positively identified.  He is still at large and described to be a white male, 5’8” tall, weighing 230#, grayish colored hair, wearing a blue shirt and blue jean shorts. The vehicle is described to be a newer model Honda civic or accord white in color last seen displaying Tennessee Tags. The subject was seen removing the vehicle tags.
The Tazewell County Sheriff’s Officer, Virginia State Police and Richlands Police Department are all still looking for the suspect and vehicle. If anyone has any further information, please contact any of the above departments.
The incident is currently under investigation by Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office Captain Detective Mills.  276-988-5966 ext 159.
