Senior Night on home court

The varsity volleyball team closed out the regular season with a home court win on senior night. The Lady Buffs had back-to-back home matches, losing to Glenvar Tuesday, October 23, and beating Eastern Montgomery Wednesday, October 24.
The Buffaloes had a strong effort in losing to defending state champion Glenvar 3-1. The Highlanders won the opener 25-6.
Glenvar roared out to a 13-2 lead, then upped it to 18-3 The Highlanders finished off the game in five serves.
But in the second game, Floyd won 25-23. Floyd went ahead 10-7 and got four points from Courtney Smith to extend the lead to 20-15.
The Highlanders rallied to 24-23, but the Buffaloes held on for the win.
Glenvar came back to take the third game 25-13. The Highlanders went up 6-1 and then increased the lead to 17-11.
The Highlanders also took the fourth game 25-19. Glenvar went ahead 16-6 on seven points by Courtney Webb. Floyd rallied late but fell short.
The Buffaloes beat Eastern Montgomery 3-1. Floyd took the opening game 25-18.
The game was close until Emily Gruver got seven points to put Floyd up 21-14.
The Mustangs won game two 25-21.Lauren Dalton got eight points to give EastMont the lead for good at 18-11.
Floyd won game three 25-17. Molly Brown had four points as Floyd went ahead 17-7.
The Buffaloes also took a 17-7 lead en route to a 25-7 win in game four. Floyd finished the game out in six serves, scoring the last eight points.
