The dogs are gone from Ivan Schmucker Jr.’s property, but the Amish farmer still has many difficult decisions ahead.
Schmucker gave his side of the “insider” transaction in a phone interview late Tuesday afternoon after his dogs were purchased by Best Friends Animal Society on Friday evening using two local residents who told Schmucker they planned to buy the dogs to open up a kennel of their own.
The transaction appears to have brought to a conclusion the saga involving Schmucker and his dog kennel. The Utah-based group purchased 167 dogs from the Bland County farmer over the weekend.
In a press release from Best Friends Animal Society, the organization announced it had bought the dogs from Schmucker after “an ‘insider’ worked with Best Friends to buy the dogs.”

They state that 179 dogs were rescued. 3 litters of puppies were born during the rescue process, which probably explains why they rescued 179 but only had to purchase 167.

So, what was this guy’s response? The article says nothing. I want to know if he feels as badly as he should (I doubt it). Also, will he be able to open another kennel by using one of his Amish friends’ name, address, etc.? How will he be kept from harming other innocent dogs? Can’t someone just put him out in a cold (or hot depending on the season), unlit, cement kennel inside a cage? He would probably enjoy having to “breed” 24/7. I mean, what man wouldn’t?!?! I’m assuming that’s the thinking behind all the a—-holes who have puppy mills. Oh, don’t forget to set his kennel on fire. Maybe, since he has opposable thumbs, he would get out in time… or not!
