Rural Retreat man killed in crash

A Rural Retreat man died Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Atkins, police said.
According to Virginia State Police Sgt. M.T. Conroy, Everette Lee Blevins, 80, died after crashing his 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier into a Mac truck on U.S. 11 just north of Virginia 686.
Conroy said Blevins’ vehicle crossed the center line and hit the truck at approximately 9:40 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation.
In another wreck on Wednesday, a Missouri tractor-trailer driver was charged with reckless driving after wrecking on Interstate 81 northbound at the 73-mile marker.
Conroy said Carl Albert Rice, 44, was charged after his truck overturned on the highway at approximately 11:23 a.m.
