Runners qualify for state meet

The boys’ cross country team finished third in the Region C meet at the Southwest Training Center course in Hillsville Wednesday, qualifying for the Group A state championships, which will be held at Great Meadows in Manassas.
Brandy Phillips, the only Floyd girl who qualified for the regional, also advanced to state by finishing in the top 15 (she was 14th). The top 15 finish also won her all-regional honors. Making all-region for the boys were Austin Grubb (6th) and Andrew Grubb (13th).
