Police seize cash, drugs

Two area residents were arrested this week as part of a drug investigation.
According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Wayne Clark, 31, of Whitetop Road, Abingdon, was arrested without incident at his residence. He is charged with two counts of possession with the intent to distribute a Schedule I or II drug, and sell or provide for resale a Schedule I or II drug.
Frank Milanese, 27, of Marion, was also arrested at the residence, according to the sheriff’s office. According to a sheriff’s office press release, he is charged with possession with the intent to distribute a Schedule I or II drug.
Clark was released on a $5,000 secured bond, while Milanese was released on a $2,500 secured bond.
According to the press release, law enforcement authorities seized more than $2,000 worth of drugs and cash at the residence.
The Washington County and Russell County sheriff’s Offices and the Abingdon Police Department worked on the joint drug investigation.
“The cooperation of these three law enforcement agencies has led to these arrests,” said Washington County Sheriff Fred Newman.
