Nancy Lou Pruitt Belcher
Nancy Lou Pruitt Belcher, 59, of Maxie, died Nov. 25 in Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN, following a brief illness.
Born in Buchanan County, she was a daughter of the late Dock, Jr. and Fannie Boyd Pruitt.
She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County, a graduate of Grundy High School and was of the Regular Baptist faith. She was a sales clerk and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Lee Belcher, Feb. 8, 2004, and one sister, Sarah Mae Stiltner.
Survivors: brother, Sammy and wife, Susan Pruitt, of Maxie; brother-in-law, Luther Stiltner of Maxie; nieces, Jeanie Stiltner and Tabitha Pruitt, both of Maxie; and nephews, Eric Stiltner and Samuel Pruitt, both of Maxie.
The funeral will be conducted Nov. 28 at 11 a.m. at Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Elders Howard Daniels, Roger Coleman, Toy Looney and Mark Justice officiating.
Burial will follow in the Clevinger Cemetery on Left Fork of Belchers Fork near Maxie.

John Steven Campbell
John Steven Campbell 39, of Cedar Bluff, died at his home Nov. 21.
Born in Richlands, he was the son of Muriel Elizabeth Church Campbell and the late John Henry Campbell.
He was self-employed and was a lifetime resident of Tazewell County. 
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lucian Church and wife, Dolly, and Catherine Church; his paternal grandparents, Clarence and Lina Campbell; and one uncle, Donald Church.
Survivors: mother, Muriel Campbell of Cedar Bluff; sister, Sandra Campbell Perry of Forest; niece, Taylor Perry of Forest; special aunt, Pat Gross; special cousin, Amy Sturgill; and a host of family and friends.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Nov. 24 at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands with the Rev. Rick Herald officiating.
Interment followed at the Greenhills Memory Gardens cemetery located at Claypool Hill.

Kathleen M. Colston
Kathleen M. Colston, 90, of Tazewell, died Nov. 19 at a Tazewell hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born in Richlands, she was the daughter of the late William and Ella Perry.
She was a loving mother and wife and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles A. Brown, and second husband, James E. Colston.
Survivors: daughter, Sandy Nipper and husband, Tommy, of Tazewell; son, James Brown and wife, Glenys, of Newport News; grandchildren, Michelle Jeter, Julie Marcella and Tracy Matthews; and great-grandchildren, Joshua Vincent Moore, Alexander Edward Liston, Michael Brian Marcella and Mark Jeter.
Memorial services were held at 3 p.m. Nov. 23 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell with the Rev. Robert Belcher officiating. 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the A Child Shall Lead Them Foodbank, Inc., P.O. Box 26, Tazewell, VA 24651.

Ronald L. “Ronnie” McReynolds
Ronald L. “Ronnie” McReynolds, 66, of Piqua, OH, died Nov. 20 at his residence.
He was born Aug. 29, 1941 in Tazewell to the late Sherman and Ethel (Jackson) McReynolds.
He was a member of Troy Fraternal Order of the Eagles. He worked at Ivex in Troy for 22 years as a machinist.
He married Ethel J. Owen Jan. 10, 1962 in Tazewell. She survives.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Additional survivors: sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Holly McReynolds of Piqua, Tony and Sandra McReynolds of Covington, Tracy and Berne McReynolds and Toby and Jill McReynolds, all of Piqua; brothers, Millard “Doug” McReynolds of Piqua, Don McReynolds of Bradford; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sallie Crabtree of Fredericksburg, Dorothy and Luke Bolin, Almeda Nash, Gaynell Thompson and Sheila Gail and Terry Allen, all of Piqua; special sister-in-law, Helen Hughes of Piqua; grandchildren, Ashley McReynolds, Lujack McReynolds, Tyla McReynolds and Sam McReynolds; and great-grandchildren, Ezariah McReynolds, Zara McReynolds and Zion McReynolds.
The funeral was conducted at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 27 at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua, with the Rev. Phillip P. De Lorme officiating.
Burial followed at Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua.

Jacquelyn S. Moore
Jacquelyn S. Moore, 69, of North Tazewell, died Nov. 19 at Tazewell Community Hospital in Tazewell.
Born Feb. 26, 1938 in Tazewell County, she was a daughter of the late Finast Sinkford and Ethel Peery Reed.
She was a member of the Tazewell Church of Christ. She was instrumental in the formation of the Carline Community Center located in Tazewell and the FHA Community Home Development and Improvement Project. She was also formerly employed by the Tazewell County Development Corporation.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Bonita Peery, and her former husband, Walter W. “June” Moore.
Surviving to cherish her memory are: sons, Michael Moore and Darryl Moore, both of North Tazewell, Jerome Moore of Cleveland, OH; sister, Letitia McClendon of Tazewell; brothers, James Reed of Cleveland, OH, Omar Reed, Jr.  of North Tazewell; grandchildren, Michael Butts, Brianna Johnson and Darryl Moore, Jr., all of Cleveland, OH; great grandchildren, Michael and Mikaila; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was conducted at 2 p.m. Nov. 24 at Peery & St.Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell with the Rev. Dr. Edgar Wallace officiating.
Burial followed at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell.

Mildred L. Necas
Mildred L. Necas, 81, of Ormond Beach, FL, formerly of Cedar Bluff, died Nov. 21 at her home following a lengthy illness.
Born in Cedar Bluff, she was the daughter of the late John and Marie Cordell Norman, both former Cedar Bluff natives.
She was a resident of the Cedar Bluff area until she moved in 1960; she later went to work in Chicago, IL for GTE and Lucent Technologies. 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Blanche Hess, Lena Hubbard and Louellen Patton; five brothers, Robert, Thomas, James, Joe and Eugene Norman; and one granddaughter, Lisa Healy.
Those who carry on her spirit are: husband, Robert A. Necas, Sr.; daughters, Anna Garner and husband, Steve, of Pahrump, NV, Frankie Clark and husband, Roger, of Honaker, Linda Williams and husband, Clinton, of Abingdon, Connie Perry and husband, Roby, of Richlands, Deborah Johnson of Morristown, TN; two sons also survive her; sisters, Catherine Romano and husband, William, of Elgin, IL, Mary Ann Gibson of Sublette, IL; sister-in-law, Irene Norman of Pounding Mill; step-children, Dawn Maloney and husband, Michael, of Orland Park, IL, Robert Necas, Jr. and wife, Paulina, of Chicago; 13 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; a host of family and friends; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was conducted at 7 p.m. Nov. 26 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands with the Rev. Rick Herald officiating.
Interment was Nov. 27 at 1 p.m. at the Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands.

John W. (Bill) Rickman
John W. (Bill) Rickman, 68, of Swords Creek, died Nov. 21 at his home.
Born Aug. 15, 1939 in Richlands, he was the son of the late Henry Dexter and Wyrene Barrett Rickman.
He was a United States Air Force Veteran and was retired from B & O Railroad. 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, David William Rickman.
Survivors: wife, Annette Rickman; sons, Tim Rickman and wife, Lisa, of Middletown, Rodney Rickman and wife, Pam, and Jack Rickman and wife, Tammy, all of Winchester; 16 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Graveside services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 23 at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill.
Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff was in charge of arrangements.

Goldie Edith Sanders
Goldie Edith Sanders, 80, of Honaker, died Nov. 23 in a Richlands hospital.
Born April 12, 1927 in Russell County, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Myrtle Whitt Compton.
A lifelong resident of the Russell county area, she was of the Freewill Baptist faith. 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Estil Sanders; one grandson, Robbie Sanders; one daughter-in-law, Shirley Sanders; four sisters; and five brothers.
Survivors: sons, James Sanders and wife, Jenny, of Cleveland, VA, Harley Sanders and wife, Lou, of Tazewell, Jerry Sanders and Larry Sanders, both of Honaker, Allen Sanders of Elk Garden; daughters, Judy Israel and husband, Billy, and Evelyn Nash and husband, Phillip, all of Honaker; sister, Hazel Whited of Swords Creek; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was conducted at 2 p.m. Nov. 26 in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, with Rev. David Perkins and Rev. Edward Tiller officiating.
Interment followed in the Sanders Cemetery on Stinson Ridge.

Pearl S. Dailey Sanders
Pearl S. Dailey Sanders, 100 years and 6 months, of Lebanon, died Nov. 25 at her home following a brief illness.
She was born in Seaboard on Jewell Ridge. She was the daughter of the late I.W. and Cara Ferrell Dailey, former Jewell Ridge natives.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and had attended the Community Baptist Church at Wardell and was a member of the Seniors Circle of Lebanon. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was well known for her kind and gentle spirit. Taking life in an easy manner was her style. She spent her time reading, crocheting and spending time with her family. In the last 100 years, she has witnessed many spectacular events and saw the world change in a variety of ways that we could only imagine.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and she will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Calvin Sanders; one sister, Lily Lawson; and five brothers, Albert “Bo”, Henry, Otis, Jim and Oscar Dailey.
Those who remain to carry on her spirit are: daughter, Helen Marie Messer and husband, Preston, of Lebanon; nephews, Oscar “Jun” Dailey of Jewell Ridge, Wade Ferrell of Steelesburg; granddaughters, Gerry Messer Carter and husband, Terry, of Lebanon, Deborah Messer Blankenship and husband, Dave, of Holden Beach; great-grandchildren, Jolie C. Francis and husband, Richie, of Dungaree, David Adam Blankenship of Holden Beach; special friends, Azilee Carter, Sandra Cox and Brenda Willis; and a host of friends.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 28 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Richlands with Rev. Delmar Somoskey officiating.
Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens Cemetery in Claypool Hill.

Eldridge Edward Thomas
Eldridge Edward Thomas, 77, of Grundy, died Nov. 20 at the Greystone Health Care Center, Blountville, TN, following an extended illness.
Born in Princeton, WV, he was the son of the late Clarence and Thelma Thomas Thomas.
He was a resident of Buchanan County most of his life and was of the Baptist Faith. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a Retired Employee of Island Creek Coal Company. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and enjoyed riding Harley-Davidsons.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Lester Thomas, Oct. 7, 2000; one daughter, Judy Taylor; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors: daughter, Nancy Lester of Johnson City, TN; sons, Burlin and wife, Linda Matney, of Vansant, Billy and wife, Donna Lester, of Rosedale; sisters, Linda Galowski of Winston Salem, NC, Mary Hicks of McDowell County, WV; brother, James Thomas of Florida; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was conducted Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Ratliff Sr. officiating.
Burial followed in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock.
The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be made in the form of a donation to the Victory Baptist Church Building Fund, Rt. 2 Box 152B, Vansant, VA 24656.

Otis Harold Wright, Sr.
Otis Harold Wright, Sr., 74, of near Libertytown, MD, died Nov. 20 at Frederick Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
Born April 14, 1933 in Tazewell, he was the son of the late Troy C. and Margaret J. Kendar Wright.
He was the husband of Joan Peery Wright, his wife of 52 years. He resided in the Tazewell area until 1956 when he and his family moved to the Libertytown area. He formerly worked as a coal miner in Virginia and then in Montgomery County with Asplundh for 30 years, retiring in 1996. He enjoyed his grandchildren and pets, washing his car, smoking cigars and country music.
Additional survivors: daughters, Gala Wright and companion, Joseph Yannone, of Middletown, MD, Valinda Baker and husband, Russell, of Tazewell; sons, Otis Harold Wright Jr., Dale E. Wright and Roy Carl Wright, all of Libertytown, Warren Lee Wright of Hagerstown, MD; grandchildren, Calvin McDonald, April and Chris Wright, Tommy Herril, Andrew, Dale, Teresa, Pete, Elvin, Gala, Kayla and Chelsea Wright; great grandchildren, Rebecca and Logan McDonald and Elizabeth Wright. He was one of 21 siblings. He will also be fondly remembered by Nancy Crum, former companion of Otis Harold Wright, Jr.
The funeral was conducted Nov. 26 at 11 a.m. at Hartzler Funeral Home in Libertytown with Rev. Frances Tonks, pastor of Community of Christ in Frederick, MD, officiating.
Interment followed in Fairmount Cemetery, Libertytown.
