KASSIDY JORDAN FOSTER
CHECK-Kassidy Jordan Foster, 12, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 16, 2007 at Roanoke Community Hospital.
Kassidy was a level 7 Gymnast at Virginia Techniques in Christiansburg and she attended Faith Fellowship Church in Wirtz. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ruby Lee Foster and great grandparents, Wiley and Wertie Marks.
She is survived by: her parents, Danny and Tammy Austin Foster; sister, Courtney Layne Foster; grandparents, Harold and Kitty Austin, of Check, Benjamin Foster of Rocky Mount; aunts and uncles, Dorn and Betty Marks; Cathy and Paul Howell, Kathy and Randy Young, Gary and Norma Foster, Debbie and Jeffrey Taylor, Mike and Kim Foster, Wanda Foster; cousins, Chad Marks, Sarah and Nichole Howell, Tonya, Keith, Kaden and Lacey Grantham, Ronald Foster, Morris Foster, Alisha and Lyndsey Foster, Stephanie, Shane, and Nate Bailey, Charles Foster, LeeAnn Foster, Felicia, Kameron, Manyah and Isaiah Foster, Warren and Gabriel Taylor; many nieces, nephews, other relatives in many states and special friends at Virginia Techniques Gymnastics.
The family would like to meet as many people as they can at the services to thank everyone for their support.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Thursday at Faith Fellowship Church, Wirtz with a memorial service starting at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 21, at Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd with the Reverends Gary Hoffman, Gary Martin and Jackie Spence officiating.
Interment will follow at Wilson Cemetery, Check.
The family will also receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday at Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd.
Arrangements are being handled by Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd.

 

CALVIN COOLIDGE MANNING
ROANOKE-Calvin (Jim) Coolidge Manning, 83, formerly of Copper Hill, passed away July 16, 2007 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.  He was a retired employee of Jones Motor Lines, and also served in the US Army.
Jim was preceded in death by his father Oliver W. Manning, Sr.,  mother,  Pearl Puckett Manning Craighead, step-mother,  Nellie W. Manning, brothers,  Herbert W. Manning, Cleveland Manning, Melvin H. Manning, Bobby H. Manning, Benny L. Manning, Terry L. Manning and David W. Manning, sisters,  May Manning, Cammie Manning and Bondeen M. Barger.
He is survived by: special companion, June M. Graybill, Roanoke; brothers, Oliver W. Manning, Jr. Salem, Paul Manning, Larry and Rhonda Manning,  both of Copper Hill, Henry Manning, Floyd, Rocky and Celeste Manning, Greensboro, NC, Michael Manning, Radford; sisters, Katherine M. and Junior Sowers, Floyd, Linda M. and Tom Iddings, Riner; special sisters-in-law, Julia Manning, Salem, Carmen Manning, Copper Hill;  many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at Roanoke Memorial 8 West for all their loving care and support.
A service to celebrate his life was held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roy Turpin officiating.  Interment followed at the Puckett Cemetery, Copper Hill. 

ARNIE GALLIMORE SIMPKINS
FLOYD-Arnie Gallimore Simpkins,  91, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday July 10, 2007.  She was preceded in death by her parents,  C.L. and Stella Gallimore, husband,  Orville Q. Simpkins, daughter,  Janet S. Howell, and son,  Clark Simpkins, three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include: sons and daughters-in-law, Quinton and June Simpkins, Christiansburg, Paul and Marie Simpkins, Floyd; daughters and son-in-law, Betty and Jack Saul, Fancy Gap, Mary Akers,  Floyd; brothers, Charles Gallimore, Floyd, Roger Gallimore,  Christiansburg; sisters, Dovie Quesenberry, Riner, Isabell Shelor,  Christiansburg;  18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Friday July 13,  at Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren, Floyd, with Rev. Richard Thomas, Rev. Marvin Wade and Rev. Hebron Quesenberry officiating.  Interment followed at Beaver Creek Cemetery.  Arrangements by Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd.

PAUL GEORGE STUART
COPPER HILL-Paul George Stuart, 76,  passed away Friday July 13, 2007.
Survivors include: sons, Dr. Dennis O. Stuart,  Lumberton, NC, Tony D. Stuart, Cranberry, PA; daughters, Charlene S. Turner, Darlene S. Powell, Vonitta Stuart, all of Roanoke; grandchildren, Aaron, Justin, Lauren, Taylor, Joshua, Megan, Sophia, and Desmond; sisters, Irma Jean Hanson
Floyd, Katie Mae Stuart, Copper Hill; a host of friends and relatives.
Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Monday July 16,  at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd, with Rev. Clinton Crump officiating.  Interment followed at Stuart Cemetery
