OLLIE BEUSTER
MIDLAND, NC-Ollie Beuster, 85, passed away on July 13, 2007 at her home. She was born January 29, 1922 in Floyd County.
A memorial service was held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 16 at Bethel United Methodist Church at 12700 Idlebrook Road in Midland, North Carolina. Reverend Mark Clontz officiated. A private interment was held in the church cemetery.
She was a very active and beloved member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She was faithful in her service to various church committees and activities and was delighted to host meetings for her circle.
Her husband, Lorenz Beuster, her parents Early and Susan Quesenberry of Willis, and her brother, Merlin Quesenberry, who was lost in submarine action in the Pacific in WWII, preceded her in death.
Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Carl Squires of Midland, North Carolina; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Kathy Beuster of Rancho Mirage, California; and her many beloved relatives in Virginia and across the United States.
Memorials may be made to Hospice at Charlotte, 1420 E. 7th Street, Charolotte, NC 28204 or Bethel United Methodist Church Building Fund, 12700 Idlebrook Road, Midland, NC 28107.

ASA WYATT DUNCAN
CHRISTIANSBURG-Asa Wyatt Duncan, 90 years young, passed away peacefully Monday July 16, 2007 at CNRV Hospital after a long struggle with diabetes, with his family by his bedside. He was a WWII Veteran, carrying him throughout the Pacific & earning rank of Master Sergeant. Returning home he became a farmer and a well known well driller. His love of fishing & coon hunting were on his mind throughout all his days of sickness & desire to become well again. He enjoyed his children & grandchildren and was proud to hear of them serving the Lord because he always took his family to church and to tent meetings. He never met a stranger and was willing to help anyone in need.
Preceding him in death were his parents: Wyatt Lynch and Maude Akers Duncan.
Survivors include: his wife, Carrie Showalter Duncan, Christiansburg; children, Robert Dale Duncan, Dennis Giles Duncan, Loretta Duncan Elkins, James Asa and wife Linda Akers Duncan, all of Christiansburg; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, ten step great-grandchildren; sisters,
Ethel Vaught Viers, Eula Viers Farmer and husband Bob, Danie Viers Mannon, Inez Vaught and husband Virgil, Roxie Martin and husband Roy; brother, Lawrence Duncan and wife Janice; caregiver, George Henry Lovins; many special friends.
Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday July 19 at the Indian Valley Church of God with Rev. James Walker, Rev. Ronald Duncan, Rev. Vinton Quesenberry and Rev. Kenneth Poston. Interment will follow at the Showalter Cemetery.
Special thanks to Dr. Trividi, Dr. Baker, Dr. Downing and the nursing staff and dialysis staff. They have all become our extended family.

RALPH MAYNARD STUMP
COPPER HILL-Ralph Maynard Stump, 76, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2007. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor “Tootsie” Stump, his father and mother, Issac Newton and Rosa Belle Wilson Stump and brother, Newton H. Stump.
He is survived by: son, Ralph Wayne Stump and wife Melissa; granddaughter, Samantha Stump; sisters, Irene Moran and Sylvia Yopp and friend Raymond, all of Copper Hill; nieces and nephews, Glenna and husband Tom Bell, Bobbie Jean Worrell, Wade Yopp and friend April Angell, Jeff and wife Michelle Yopp, Frank and wife, Maxine Moran, Terry and wife, Dreama Moran, Betty Moran, Michael Stump and friend Gail, all of Copper Hill, Charlotte Goodwin of Roanoke, Becky Sell of Charlottesville, Debbie Stump of Copper Hill; special cousins, Hilda Radford of Copper Hill; many cousins and friends. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2007 at Wood Funeral Home with Reverend Maurice Wright officiating with interment in Restvale Cemetery.
LAWRENCE D. WEEKS
MANASSAS-Lawrence D. Weeks, age 79 of Manassas returned to be with the Lord on Friday July 20, 2007. He was born March 10, 1928 in Floyd, to Albert and Charlotte Weeks. He was a kind and gentle soul who will be deeply missed by all who came to know of his sense of humor, grace and care for others. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, watching NASCAR and baseball, and cheering for his favorite football team, the Washington Redskins.
Lawrence is survived by his cherished grandchildren, Billy Barr and Evelyn Weeks, both of Manassas. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 29 years, Ruth Weeks and his brother, Adrian Weeks.
A memorial service to celebrate his life was held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday July 23 at the Faith Baptist Church in Bealeton. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday July 25 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd, with Pastor Leo DeLorge officiating. Burial followed at Beaver Creek Cemetery, Floyd.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Grandpa Weeks Memorial Fund at Patriot Bank, Sudley Road in Manassas, VA.
Grandpa, we will miss you terribly, but we know you will always watch over us and we will be together with you again. We love you.

FLOYD-Tony Clarence Wood, 43, passed away Tuesday July 17, 2007. He was preceded in death by his father, Kent E. Wood.
Survivors include: his mother, Oleda Phillips, Willis; sisters, Tina Moles, Rene’ Moles, both of Willis; brother, Brandon Keith, Copper Hill; nephews, Kent Moles, Willis, Chase Keith, Copper Hill.
Graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 20, at Beaver Creek Cemetery, Floyd, with Rev. Mike Bond officiating. Arrangements by Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd.
