Osborne

Maxwell Thomas Osborne Sr., 91, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, at his home in Mantua, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Marie Osborne. After her death he moved from Broadford to Ohio.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Maxwell Thomas Jr. and Nicole Osborne of Mantua, Ohio; three grandchildren, Dorian S. and husband, Glenn Musick, Michael Thomas Osborne and U.S. Navy 1st Class sonar Brian Russell Osborne and wife, Melissa Wrentmore; six great-grandchildren, Michela M. Daniel Petry, Hanna Lynn Osborne, Zachary Musick, Cody Musick, Joshua Musick and Carter Osborne; and three great-great-grandchildren, Danielle Petry, Madeline Petry and Alania Petry.
Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon, Aug. 24, 2007, in the D.R. Henderson Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Roselawn Cemetery.
The family received friends Thursday evening, Aug. 23, 2007, at the funeral home.
D.R. Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville was in charge of arrangements.

Stone

Robert J. Stone, 64, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007, in Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Muncy G. and Katherine Kirk Stone. 
Survivors include three sisters and a brother-in-law, Phyllis Wilma Ford, Shirley Dianne and Edsel West, all of Sugar Grove, and Wilma Faye Altizer of Christiansburg; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Muncy Glenn and Laura Stone of Sugar Grove, and Lewis James Stone of Draper Valley; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. 
Funeral services were held Thursday evening, Aug. 23, 2007, at Seaver-Brown Chapel.  The Rev. Jerry Creasy officiated the services. Graveside services were held Friday morning, Aug. 24, 2007, at Burton’s Chapel Cemetery in Grayson County. The Rev. Kenny Price officiated the services.

Seaver-Brown Funeral Service and Crematory in Marion was in charge of arrangements.

Sturgill

Clarence Jackson “Jack” Sturgill, 84, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, with his family by his side.
He was born in Grayson County to the late Jacob Roscoe and Virgie Peacock Sturgill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Allen Wayne Sturgill, three brothers and three sisters.
He served his country in the Civilian Conservation Corps, the U.S. Army, the U.S. Army Air Corps and the U.S. Air Force. He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War, where he flew more than 100 combat missions. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant and from the U.S. Postal Service after many years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Francis Marion V.F.W. Post 4667.
Survivors include his wife of 62 ½ years, Alice Blevins Sturgill; one son, Larry Sturgill of Austin Ark.; three brothers, Earl Sturgill of Milwaukee, Wis., and Paul Sturgill and Billy Ray Sturgill, both of Marion; three grandchildren, Jennifer Smith, Brian Sturgill and Lori Sturgill; and four great-grandchildren, Matthew Smith, Emily Smith, Hunter Sturgill, Rylie Sturgill
A memorial service was held Friday morning, Aug. 24, 2007, in the Bradley’s Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Neville Mozingo officiated the services with full military honors rendered by the Francis Marion V.F.W. Post #4667 and the U.S. Air Force.
