I have known the mother of little Belle and her mother for many years and have also known the father. my heart goes out to the mother and her family.I cannot imagine how they are trying to deal with this horrible act of inhumanity.I knew very long ago that Travis had serious problems and most of it was drugs.there was nothing he wouldnt do and didnt care what it took to get that next’buzz’
No addiction or anything else would be any legitimate excuse for such an act and hes not insane hes just evil always has been. I remember so many times he would shoot the middle finger at God ,he also praised Hitler.this is not sickness just evil.anyone who would do what he has done and not worry about anything except the left over money from the funeral, and want to know if he could have it is just total evil with no remorse.
It is no myth what happens to his kind in prison and he is soon to find out.I only hope that he does realize there is a God before that happens. But I doubt it.
My heart is with the mothers family and as for Little Baby Belle she is now on the lap of Jesus and will never have anymore pain.
It is beyond anything I can imagine how anyone can harm an innocent little baby especially their own.
Marion man confesses to killing his 11-month-old daughter, says investigator

A Marion man confessed that he killed his 11-month-old daughter, according to police.
Marion Police Department Investigator Lt. Darrell Hayden said Monday that Travis Ray Hester, 26, changed his story during questioning and admitted his involvement in the death of Belle LeAnn Hester.
She died Sunday, July 27, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, the day after she was airlifted from Smyth County Community Hospital’s emergency room.
The man faces a first-degree murder charge “because of his statements,” Hayden said. “[Prosecutors] don’t really want us to say how he killed the child. He confessed. He was interviewed, confessed, and charged. They didn’t want us to tell what all he did.”
Police charged Hester Friday said Marion Police Investigator Andrew Moss.
“It was an extremely tragic incident all the way around. I don’t know what to tell you,” Moss said. “All I can say is that it was an incident in which the father was in care of the child and obviously, um, he made a bad decision.”
Hayden said Hester, his wife, Crystal, and their daughter lived with Travis Hester’s father on Hill Street in Marion. They had lived there three days when the incident happened, the lieutenant said.
Travis Hester “had lost his job,” and “their only income was her waitressing job,” Hayden said. The family left their Coyner Avenue residence and moved in with Larry Hester, according to Hayden.
On Saturday, July 26, Crystal Hayden worked her job at Macado’s from 4 to 9:50 p.m., Hayden said. She and her husband talked by telephone during the evening, but Travis Hester made no mention of the child being hurt, he said.
Larry Hester left for work at 7:30 p.m. Hayden said.
“So we know the child was not hurt before 7:30,” the lieutenant said.
When Crystal Hayden arrived home around 10 p.m., they took their daughter to the emergency room at Smyth County Community Hospital, Hayden said.
The child had head injuries Hayden described only as “pretty extensive.”
“That’s how the investigation began,” Hayden said. “The medical examiner said the injuries didn’t occur as the father said they did,” in a fall by the child from a deck onto the lawn, he continued.
“The deck is five feet off the ground,” Hayden said. “That did not match the injuries, five feet onto grass. That’s the story he told police to begin with,” a story he changed under questioning, Hayden said.
Hester was held without bond at the regional jail in Abingdon.
Smyth County Commonwealth’s Attorney Roy Evans said Monday video arraignment was expected to be held Tuesday, a common procedure when subjects are incarcerated in the regional jail that avoids transportation logistics and maintains security for the accused, especially in emotionally charged cases.
“Due process is still afforded, provided by everyone being present and visible by electronic means,” Evans said.
The case was transferred from Smyth County’s General District Court to its Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Monday afternoon.
“A magistrate put it in the wrong court,” Evans said.
Evans said Hester should have an attorney by Tuesday.
The prosecutor said he had not determined what penalty he would pursue.
“It’s still relatively early,” said Evans, who had not received the autopsy report and had only telephone information from the examiner. Evans said he also planned further talks with the police officers who investigated the incident before planning his prosecution.
The child was buried in Slemp Cemetery, Sugar Grove, following a funeral service Thursday afternoon at Valley View Baptist Church in Sugar Grove.
In addition to her father, mother and grandfather in Marion, she is survived by grandparents Danny and Tammy Miller of Sugar Grove, Gary and Lisa Quillen of Atkins, and Deborah Hester of Abingdon; her great-grandparents, Jerry and Betty Jones of Rich Valley, Paul and Mary Quillen of Marion, Ivalee Miller of Marion, and Charles Anderson of Abingdon; uncles and aunts, Adam Miller and wife, Brittney, of Sugar Grove, Jeremy Miller of Sugar Grove, Steven Quillen of Marion and Nathan Quillen of Atkins, Angela Simerly and husband, Greg, of Elizabethton, Tenn., Jessica Sexton of Atkins, Tracy Stallard and husband, Michael, of Marion, Jessica Quillen of Rural Retreat, and Shannon Tate and husband, John, of Marion.
My heart and prayers go out to everyone involved in the terrible situation.
I was reading the message posted previously as they stated that this man is evil. It is nothing but the devil consuming his life. God loves him just as much as He loves me or anybody else. We have to have faith that this man will repent of what he has done and seek forgiveness. We serve a living, merciful and gracious King.
I am a Christian and I believe this man will be saved and hold faith that God will comfort everyone and will put peace and forgiveness in their hearts. We have to forgive others as Christ forgives us. The Bible says that we are forgiven 70 X 7, everyday.
What he done to precious little Belle is horrible and inexcusable but PRAISE GOD she is with the wonderful Savior, Jesus and He Loves her daddy as much as He loves her.
I pray you all will find peace in this situation and rest in the promise of Christ that you’ll be reunited with Belle, if you serve the Lord as He commands.
God Bless
It really gripes me that my tax dollars will have to pay for the legal defense & incarceration of this individual. Give him a pink prison outfit and throw him in ‘general population’.
he wont need pink prison garb what he did will be enough to advertise for him.Its really hard not to have anger at this crisis. I know we should pray and forgive as our God does us. But this is just so totally inhuman and sad.I cannot imagine the nightmares of the immediate families, the ones who held and loved the baby.I go to bed praying for them each night.they gave benefit of the doubt to this looser and accepted him to be a human being.and what has he done to their lives? Im sorry but I am really angry that we have animals like this in our world.I do hope that he does find God and the most justice he can get is for us to pray that he does actually find that there really is a God.then he will realize what he has done.without God I fear that he will never realize he has done anything.
Would just like to comment on the fact that the mother should consider some type of counseling or therapy to help her recognize the dangerous situation that she placed both herself and the child in, by staying with this man. Had she listened to family and removed herself from the situation, this might have been avoided. But women with low self esteem along with other issues tend to stay in these types of situations, because they don’t feel they have any other recourse. So my prayer’s go out to the mother and the family, that they will help and support her through this crisis, and her future will be more positive, as she develops a higher self esteem, and the confidence that she needs to make the right choice’s in her life.
The more I find out about what really happened ,the sicker I get.
