Man dies in motorcycle crash

A 22-year-old Floyd County man died in a motorcycle crash in Franklin County Saturday, August 4, 2007.
Chrisopher Scott Kindred of Ridgeview Road was driving a 2001 Honda CBR 600 when the wreck occurred at 1:30 p.m. on Route 606, six-tenths of a mile north of Route 605. Sgt. Bob Carpentieri of the Virginia State Police said Kindred was headed southbound on the northbound side of the road and was traveling at a high rate of speed when he struck a 2007 Ford Explorer head-on.
Kindred was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Explorer was not injured.
