You mention in your Grand Jury Article on Mr Lowman being indicted upon evidence presented by the State Police, however all the other indictments came as a result of investigations handled by the Bland County Sheriffs Office

Accused of sexually abusing a child, a Bastian man will now face trial in Bland County Circuit Court.
Lonnie Rayvon Loman, 52, was one of 13 individuals indicted on Monday in cases heard by local grand jurors.
Facing a charge of aggravated sexual battery, Loman’s accused of abusing a 4-year-old female in July, according to court records.
The Virginia State Police investigated the case.
Loman and the other indicted suspects will now face a judge or jury to determine if they’re guilty or not guilty of the charges against them.
Grand jurors only listen to one side of a case and just determine whether they believe enough evidence exists to send a case to trial.
These were the other cases heard in secret by the seven jurors:
Johnny Ray Thacker, 51, of Kannapolis, N.C., was indicted on a May 1 charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Christopher Wesley Asbury, 33, of Tazewell was indicted on Feb. 28 charges of breaking and entering, and grand larceny. Asbury’s accused of breaking in to an outbuilding and taking a weed trimmer, leaf blower and saw.
Christopher Fritz Anderson, 23, of Lorain, Ohio, was indicted on a sale or distribution of marijuana charge.
Timothy Matthew Lockhart, 20, of North Tazewell was indicted on March 7 charges of breaking and entering, and grand larceny involving the theft of a generator, ATV, tools and more.
Donnie Scarboro, 41, of Bastian was indicted on an Aug. 24 malicious wounding charge. Johnny Hull took out the warrant.
Dennis Cook, 33, of Bastian was indicted on an Aug. 24 malicious wounding charge. Johnny Hull obtained the warrant.
Colleen Chaplaine Harvey, 24, of Bland was indicted on a Feb. 2, 2007, possession of a controlled substance charge.
Michael Ray Wimmer, 33, of Princeton, W.Va., was indicted on two June 22 grand larceny charges related to the theft of copper spools from ABB in Bland.
Jessee Martin Rudder, 26, of Bland was indicted on Jan. 6 charges of breaking and entering, and grand larceny involving the theft of guns, ammunition and state quarters.
Lisa Waddle Haun, 41, of Bland was indicted on a Feb. 15 possession of a controlled substance charge.
Robin Lyn Sims, 34, of Austinville was indicted on a June 24 breaking and entering charge.
Donna Cowan, 51, of Independence was indicted on an Aug. 15 obtaining money by false pretense charge. Mattie Long took out the warrant.
Larry Ray Hill, 39, of Martinsville was indicted on an Oct. 12 charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
