Golf team finishes fifth

The Floyd County golf team continues to improve, as the team had reduced its scoring by about 40 strokes in recent Three Rivers District play.
The Buffaloes finished fifth in recent matches; at Radford Thursday, August 21, at Auburn Hills in Riner Monday, August 25and at Giles Thursday, August 28.
At the River Course in Radford, Floyd posted the best round of the season with a 379. Radford edged Giles to win the match.
Team scores were Radford 312, Giles 318, Glenvar 366, Auburn 374, Floyd County 379, and Eastern Montgomery 436.
Bradley Gunn was medalist for Floyd with an 87. Zeke Shaffer of Radford and Scott Obenshain of Glenvar tied for match medalist honors, with each carding a 72.
