Floyd places 13th in state

The boys’ cross country team finished 13th in the Group A State Meet at Great Meadows in Manassas Saturday. Austin Grubb finished 20th. In the girls’ meet, Brandy Phillips was the only Floyd participant, finishing 78th with a time of 22:48.65.
Other boys’ placing for Floyd were Andrew Grubb (66th), Cole Conley (85th), Woodrow Underwood (97th), Russell Callahan (122nd), and Travis Nester (123rd). The boys’ meet had 127 runners.
Radford won the boys’ team championship and Radford’s Nathan Brame finished first in the boys’ race. Glenvar’s Megan Marisco won the girls’ race. Clarke County won the girls’ team title.
