ARDELLA BOYD DUNCAN
CHRISTIANSBURG-Ardella Boyd Duncan, 70, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2008.
She was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Duncan, her parents, Turner and Bertha Boyd, her brother, Roy Boyd, and her sister-in-law and best friend, Marie Duncan.
She is survived by: one son and daughter-in-law, Early Jr.
and Barbara Duncan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Michael Correll, Sara and Michael Sayers; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Glendon and Virginia Boyd, Edward and Ann Boyd, Roger and Polly Boyd; two sisters and brother-in-law, Marie and Clyde Goad, and Doris Cox; six grandchildren, Jeremiah Correll, Matthew Correll, Rachael Correll, Cynthia Troxel, Peyton Sayers, and Bryton Sayers; four great-grandchildren, Maryann Correll, Alex Troxel, Ashlynn Correll, and Matthew Correll, Jr.; friend and former husband, Early Duncan, Sr.; five special cats.
Funeral services was conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Murray Agee officiating.
Interment followed at Lee Cemetery at Tuggles Gap.

Margie Arlene Hammond
FLOYD-Margie Arlene Hammond, 70, passed away Wednesday April 2, 2008.  She is survived by: husband, Arnold Hammond, Floyd; sons and daughter-in-law, Phillip L. and Jean Hammond, Floyd, Mark Hammond, Roanoke;
daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and David Foutz, Fincastle, Debbie and Richard Thomas, Galax; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Butch Piner, Cloverdale; brothers and sisters-in-law, Norman and Susie Dooley, Raymond and Pat Dooley, all of Fincastle; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; friends, Bill and Peggy Fenwick, Floyd.
A Memorial Service was held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at Floyd Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Phillip Quesenberry officiating.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Floyd Kingdom hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  Arrangements by Maberry Funeral Home, Inc.

ALBERT LEROY KINGREA
YADKINVILLE, NC-Albert Leroy Kingrea, 67, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2008.  He was preceded in death by his wife Joann Phillips Kingrea.
He is survived by: sons and daughter-in-law, Steven Leroy Kingrea, Radford, Barry Dwayne and Shawn Kingrea, Yadkinville, NC; sister, Ann Hatcher, Abingdon; grandchildren, Steven Kelley Kingrea, Radford, Summer Lynn Kingrea, Ty Allen Kingrea, both of Yadkinville, NC.
Funeral service was held 11:00 a.m.  Wednesday, April 9, at Indian Valley Church of God, with Rev. James Walker and Rev. Kenneth Poston officiating.  Interment followed in the Simpkins-Phillips Cemetery, Indian Valley. Arrangements by Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd.

JERRY LYNN LINK
SALEM-Jerry Lynn Link, 72, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 5, 2008.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He will be greatly missed by family and friends.  He was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church and a current member of West Salem Baptist Church.  He retired from General Electric in 1995.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Kathleen Vest Link, who went to be with the Lord in April, 2004.  He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Donna Sue, brothers, Bernard and Bob Link, parents, Roscoe and Audrey Link, father and mother in law, Truman and Dormal Vest; and son in law, Hal Smith. 
Surviving are: three daughters, Denise Fortner of Roanoke, Darlene Smith of Salem, and Carolyn and Scott Brandt of Roanoke; four grandchildren, Lauren Link, Jeremiah, Leah and Rebekah Brandt; sister, Edna Belckelhimer; brother, Percy Link; brothers and sisters in law, Ray and Judy Vest, Michael and Evelyn Vest.
Funeral service was conducted at 1 p.m.  on Tuesday, April 8, at West Salem Baptist Church.  Interment followed in Wilson Family Cemetery in Check.

EDDIE GEORGE PACKARD
COPPER HILL-Eddie George Packard, 71, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2008.
Survivors include: sisters-in-law, Barbara Sowder and husband, Thomas, Check, Lula Bell Kennedy, Colorado.
A memorial service was held at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 27 at Stonewall Methodist-Brethren Church with Pastor Dan Walker officiating.

IVRA LAYMAN THOMPSON
SALEM-Ivra Layman Thompson, 98, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2008.  Mrs. Thompson was the youngest child and last survivor of fifteen born to the late Green Taswell and Mary Elizabeth Thompson Layman.  She was a member of the Sunrise Circle, the West Salem Social Club, and the Salem Church of Christ.  Preceding her in death were her parents and husband, Cleavie W. Thompson.
Her surviving family includes several nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law. 
The family received friends on Sunday, March 30, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home in Salem.  Funeral service was held on Monday, March 31, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home’s chapel.  Interment followed at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem.  The Reverend Roy Miller officiated.  Contributions maybe made to the Salem Church of Christ at 401 W.
