Floyd County golfers finish sixth in district matchup

The Floyd County High School golf team finished sixth in a match of all six Three Rivers District teams at Hanging Rock in Salem Tuesday, August 19. Giles took first place with a 306 team total over the 18-hole competition. The Spartans look to establish themselves as an early district power, outshooting runner up Radford by 28 strokes.
Finishing second was Radford with a 336.
Other team scores were Glenvar 358, Auburn 380, Eastern Montgomery 426 and Floyd County 427.
Timmy Carbaugh was match medalist with a 72.
Josh Calloway was team medalist for Floyd with 99, the only Buffalo golfer to break 100 for the day.

The Buffaloes were scheduled to travel to Giles today for a district match. Floyd hosts its only district match on September 4.
