Floyd Angels fall in district finals of Dixie tournament

Floyd County won one game and lost two in the opening rounds of the Dixie League District tournament. Floyd was host team for the Angels Division.
Floyd beat Carroll County and lost to Grayson County to make it to the finals.  Floyd faced Grayson County Tuesday night in an elimination game. A win would have forced a third game, but with the loss, Grayson captured the district title and a berth in the state tournament.
On the roster for Floyd Angels team are:
Samantha Branscome, Makayla Conner, Marissa Ehrhardt, Ashley Gallimore, Sierra Gallimore, Olivia Goodson, and Bryce Nolley.
Also, Maryann Phillips, Rebekah Roscoe, Autumn Shortridge, Samantha Turman and Skyler Williams.
Coaches are Michele Gallimore, Abby Phillips, and Tara Hall.
The winner of the District tournament advances to the Dixie State Tournament in Botetourt. The state tournament begins July 18.
