Fish club holds tournament

Strong winds and rough water made fishing tough for the 14 teams of Floyd County Bass Fishing Club, Inc. during their tournament at Claytor Lake on May 31.

  Junior Harris and Mike Cockram weighed in 5.14 pounds to win first place team.  Two teams tied for second place, each weighing in 3.90 pounds.  The two teams tied for second were Darrell and Justin Vest and Dale Garnand and Darrell Quesenberry.  Kevin Fizzano and Chip Garland weighed in a 1.90 pound smallmouth bass to win big fish of the day.

  The club’s next event is a night tournament scheduled on June 28 at Smith Mountain Lake, putting in at the Penhook ramp.
