Fashion, food, music and a worthy cause will be combined this Saturday, October 11, in a benefit fundraiser in the Town of Floyd.
The Floyd New River Community Action (NRCA) Emergency Assistance Fund will receive the proceeds from a Community Fashion Show at Tom and Jeanie O’Neill’s residence/business at 414 East Main Street. Two show times will be available. At the noon to 2:00 fashion show, a lunch of Brunswick stew will be served; for the 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. show, there will be appetizers and wine. Cost is $15 per person or $25 per couple. Tickets will be available at the door.
The show will also include an auction and door prizes. Andrea Marshall, a guitarist specializing in country and bluegrass music, will be entertaining for the earlier show. Local musician Bill Adams will be a guest in the evening.
Local businesses will be providing the fashions for the show. Invited to participate in the show are Jeanie O’Neill’s Boutique and Gallery, Little Dress Shop, Angels in the Attic, Winter Sun clothing store, The Meadows, Floyd Country Store, McCabe’s Clothing, and New Mountain Mercantile. Pat Shelor, who is coordinating the event, said the merchants have been invited to provide clothing. The show will have several models, male and female.
Tickets can be purchased in advance at Jeanie O’Neill’s Studio or at the door on the day of the event. Please RSVP if you plan to attend, so plans can be made for the food.
Checks are to be made payable to NRCA (Floyd Emergency Assistance Fund).
