Early morning crash blocks traffic

TAZEWELL -  An Onieda KY, truck driver faces reckless driving charges after an early morning accident blocked both lanes of west bound 460 July 3.
Tazewell County 911 received a call around 2:45 a.m. that a truck had overturned near Ramey Chevrolet. Sr. Trooper M.J. Nelson was dispatched to the scene and discovered the tractor trailer had overturned.
Nelson’s report indicates Paul Abner, 57, apparently fell asleep while driving and ran off the road on the right side. He overcorrected in attempting to come back onto the roadway and the truck overturned.
Tazewell County Fire and Rescue was also dispatched and assisted the state police and county officers with traffic and cleanup. Abner suffered only minor injuries as a result of the crash.
Cleanup was complete and the road reopened around 5 a.m. Nelson charged Abner with reckless driving as a result of the accident. The trailer was empty and enroute back to the terminal.
