The Floyd County cross country teams opened the season, hosting the fifth annual Knobathon at the Rocky Knob Picnic Grounds on the Blue Ridge Parkway Wednesday.
The Floyd girls’ team finished third, with Nicole Snead winning the race, despite a fall. The Floyd boys were also second, with Austin Grubb having the best finish at third.
Girls’ team scores: Roanoke Catholic 27, Auburn 45, Floyd County 48
Boys’ team scores: Roanoke Catholic 23, Floyd County 32, Eastern Montgomery 77, Auburn INC.
