Buffs make post season teams

On the heels of the Group A, Division 2 state championship, Floyd County’s girls’ basketball program is piling up post-season honors. The Lady Buffs have a trio of all-state honorees.
In the Virginia High School Coaches’ Association All-State team, Alan Cantrell was named Coach of the Year. Brittany Avancini and Lindsey Thompson were first team selections, and Avancini was the state Player of the Year.

In boys’ basketball, Tucker Crawford was a rare freshman named All-Three Rivers District.
